Internationally renowned sculptor Lyman Whitaker is widely respected for the sophistication of his Wind Sculptures. Since the 1980's he has focused his artistic ability on gracefully capturing the spirit of the wind through his kinetic art. An array of interesting Public Art Installations provides a broad venue for Lyman's kinetic work. Lyman's sculptures are handmade of copper, steel and stainless steel - metals chosen for their beauty and durability. An applied patina encourages the natural verdigris of weathered copper. Each wind sculpture spins on a sealed ball bearing and can be installed so as to be secure against theft. Each sculpture comes with a steel ground mount for simple installation. Deck mounts for patio placement are also available. Lyman's works are responsive to the slightest breeze, yet are also designed to endure heavy storms and gale-force winds. The wind sculptures range in height from 5 to 28 feet, and can be installed alone or in groupings.
